So, after the success of last night’s unplugged showcase at The Albert and Pearl, we’ve been asked to make an appearance at The Jamboree tomorrow night.

Special luckyoffer (limited time only): Full-band, unplugged and playing funky-lounge versions of all your favourite lucky songs for a minimal fee (donations to the lucky charity will be accepted).

If you’re interested we’ll be in Limehouse from ’round-about 7 o’clock.

Here’s the flyer for our Cross Kings gig:

We’re considering making the whole deck of cards and then giving ones out at gigs/on the street then challenging everybody to a massive game of imaginary poker… best hand each month wins a sexy prize…

Here’s the Stranglers live on the island of Samos this summer… You can see us in the bottom right corner, loving every minute…

In other news… LF hard at work on new songs (or new old songs… War at Home, a fockin groove, and Kings & Queens, a cheeky garage-swing)

So following our little acoustic old-school session downstairs at Benny’s Bar lat night, we have a few more gigs lined up… they’re coming thick and fast… a bit like us. Yuck. Ignore that, and focus on this instead:

SUN 22nd NOVEMBER at the Albert & Pearl, Upper St.

Acoustic full-band, playing a few songs along with lots of other lovely people. Free entry! But Kissing costs extra.

WED 9th DECEMBER at the Cross Kings, Kings Cross

Full-band show with Double Rainbow and Hearts on Fire (plus more TBC) Doors £5, LF onstage at 9pm

and a reminder:

FRI 18th DECEMBER at the Good Ship, Kilburn

Bill still in the works from the brilliant mind of John, but doors will be £5 (£4 guestlist – ask us now!) and we’re working on a zany range of love games and sexy costumes (especially for Mike) for the occasion, as after that its Christmas Time.

Hello Fingerers (hmm..)

Just confirmed that Luckyfinger will be playing a Christmas Special at the Good Ship in Kilburn on Friday 18th December! This one should be quite an event, with CDs and T-Shirts making their debut, badges for everyone, giveaways, fancy dress, pranks and mischief for all the family (well maybe not creepy Uncle Howard, he has a restraining order)

Email or facebook usfor Guest List/invitations (special edition stencil ones!) and bring your friends… if you’vegot ‘em. If not, bring your Mum.

Catch a little of Luckyfinger live at The Good Ship

You can hear our new recordings (engineered and produced by Jim Simons) on our myspace:

www.myspace.com/luckyfinger

The new tracks are:

BLUE – A filthy minor blues

TOUCH ME – A sexy groove

CHEAP PERFUMES – A noisemaker

BEARS – A bicurious Ska-Waltz with Fairytale undertones

We will be putting these together into an EP, probably with handmade artwork and novelty items. If you’d like a copy for your very own (or as the perfect gift for friends, enemies and strangers) enter your email in the box on our website to join the mailing list for Release info!

For now… just sit back and turn up the bass.

So last saturday we arrived (underslept and hungover) for our last day in the Piano Factory where we’ve been rehearsing, during which we would attempt to record a demo. Mike’s brother Jim was at the helm, using nowt but ProTools a mixer and lots and lots of microphones… we did all of the music in one go (FourPointEight and Bears song in only one take each!) and then franks did over her vocals. We only had three sets of headphones, and the little carpet-walled room smelt like a turkish bath in mating season. But we did it! There is now a raggedy 4-track demo swimming your way. Title, artwork etc. to follow!

We will be posting the tunesto MySpace pretty soon so watch this(my)Space!

Write in with your various problems, quandaries and predicaments to franki@luckyfinger.net and maybe your secrets will be splattered all over this very page…

there comes a time when you know you’ve been somewhere for… way too long. all the reasons why you came there in the first place, or were happy there, fall away one by one and sometimes you realise very suddenly that none of them remain. You need to be somewhere else.

It’s time to move. We’re going to leave this town like the golden cage of a lover, like the shitty job, like the crack den that it is.  In a black car with a black guitar and no rearview mirror.

But strange how knowing you’re going makes it so much harder to endure.  Things are going insane around us and it seems like the distant day when we’ll pack up and go  is in danger all the time.

But we’ll do it. Tonight we’re going into a studio for the first time, a studio long away from where all the shit and all the fans hang out.  We’re goign to make a little light night music, and you shall hear it soon, all being well (and all manner of things being well). But as I sit here for the last half hour of the dullest day of the year, knowing that in 2 hours I’ll be out of town, I find it hard to sit still and pretend like I care.

That’s all. Freedom soon will come.
